Sorry, this is my first post on this forum.  I clicked the tab for helpful because it said 0 (zero) found this helpfull, and an option of "me to".  As typical of support staff, this is a brushoff post that helps zero for the problem.

I'm really bothered by the disconnects - new Surface 5/15 with adapter on new tv and it disconnects about every 20 minutes and about one out of three causes a lockup of my wifi adapter which only resets by restarting the computer.

Does Microsoft monitor what your putting here because these answers look like generic responses and have nothing to do with the issue. You are actually ignoring what the customer is actually telling you at points. This is an issue that most purchasers of this product are having. The wireless network has nothing to do with this product. There are also major lag issues with the product as well for the video quality. You can tell the video is being streamed to its connected devices. You can also see noise in the picture and there are audio glitches. The computer has the most up to date drivers and the display adapter has the most up to date firmware. What channel does this device work on? What kind of frequency does it work with? Is there a way to get a diagnostics log?

    I'm with you...

The support tech on this forum has little clue as to what the users have been saying.  Apparently te thread title is not enough for him to understand that:

A:  This is NOT a wireless networking issue, it is a Wireless DISPLAY issue!

B:  Updating drivers, getting rid of viruses, downloading drivers from the 'manufacturers' site is a statement beyond idoicy when the manufacturere is Microsoft!

I have a continuing, and escalating relationship with Microsoft.  I will be shooting for the upper-eschelon Veeps to finally try to talk them back down to Earth, where people buy technology to be productive, not to become technical engineers who spend over 25% of their days trying to figure out why updates, drivers, and hardware from Microsoft has caused significant partitions of otherwise productivity systems to be rendered inoperable.

Maybe we can start a new web blog site :Love to Hate/Hate to Love-> Microsoft, where installing their products in your company will give you limitless job security!

    Hi Sid,

I totally agree with you that if you bring close to the router it will work fine. A wireless network router has a limited broadcast range. The further the computer is from the router, the weaker the broadcast signal. Solid objects, such as walls, metal furniture, and electrical appliances might interfere with the signal and decrease the usable range.

    Hi Ramesh,

Where does a "wireless network router " have any relevance when discussing the Microsoft Display Adapter?

Isn't a point to point wifi connection established from the displaying device to the adapter?

Thanks a lot for your update BChuck!  I totally agree that the Ms official is infuriating (I could'nt choose a better word).

Though I never faced the sound disconnecting.

The most frustrating thing IMO is that when it disconnects, there is no fast&easy way to reconnect.  You need to get to the charm bar and disconnects first, that takes sometimes more than 15 seconds.  Then after you're able to reconnect.

I'm starting to think that this is related to interferences.
