Surface Pro 7 charger randomly stops working

I bought my Surface Pro 7 about 5 months ago and the charger has been giving me problems for about a month now. It only sometimes charges and it seems to be random when it does. I have to plug and unplug the charger multiple times in multiple outlets around the house in order for the Surface to recognize it, and when it does I have to leave it be because if I move it in any way, it stops charging again. 

Please if anyone has had this problem or has anyone knows what I could do, it would be appreciated. Not sure if the problem is the charger but it is very frustrating since the device is brand new and I haven't even used it for a year.

To verify if it's a problem with the charger or the charging port, we suggest the following:

• Try a different Surface Charger and check if the issue is resolve.

• Clean the tip of the charger with a cloth, dirt might be blocking the connection. 

• Try the current charger to a different Surface Device.

We recommend following the steps at What to do if your Surface power supply or charger doesn’t work and requesting service if needed.

    I have experienced the same thing about 6 months after I purchased my Surfaced Pro and my second charger did it as well. I'm on my third charger. SO FRUSTRATING!

    I bought this POS in November and have gone through 6 chargers. I have to buy one every month. I will never by a Microsoft Surface/ Laptop ever again.

    My surface pro 7 is a few weeks old now and this exact issue started happening shortly after I made the purchase. For an expensive and high-end product like this I can't believe how this can happen. Really frustrating. Unplugging and replugging seemed to help for the first week or so, and now it only works after trying multiple times, no succes guaranteed. I hope this issue can be resolved as soon as possible. I was thinking of ordering a replacement charger but it seems that other users who did still deal with the same issue. I also find it quite unpleasant that we're expected to find other surface pro chargers or surface pros to test where the root of the problem is. I'm not aware of anyone else in my surroundings owning a surface pro and going to some store to ask them if I can test their stuff to resolve my issue doesn't seem like the best way to go.

    Haven't experienced this issue in about 10 days but today it's already happened twice, once when I woke up to find my SP7 plugged in but not charging, battery almost dead and another while I was using it a couple hours later. I can get it to charge again by unplugging the charger from the SP7 side port and unplugging the 110V cable from the charging brick, waiting 5 seconds, then plugging everything back in reverse order, works everytime.

    This is a huge issue and the only comfort I'm getting out of this is that there are more users complaining about it, I hope Microsoft does a recall on the chargers or reimburses us because I'm thinking of buying an aftermarket charger to replace the OEM one.
