Surface Pro Pen pressure sensitivity is not working in photoshop CS6. Was anyone able to get their surface pro to use the pen pressure sensitivity? In my photoshop settings when i turn on Pen Pressure for brush settings i see a yellow exclamation mark next to each settings which has to do with pen pressure. If anyone knows how to solve this problem please let me know.

    So, I already own a couple Intuos 4's... with licensed drivers. Has anyone tried installing these, or similar, drivers on their Surface Pro to see if it might resolve any of the issues with its pen not functioning properly in PhotoShop? I don't know, I may be way off here. I'm not much of an API or driver compatibility expert :-)

    From my past experience with a Cintiq display the Wintab API gave approximately 25x higher resolution for stylus position than the Microsoft APIs I tried, which seemed to quantise all positions to the nearest whole pixel :) (But I haven't tried other displays or the newest libraries so could be improved now).

    wintab may be old but it works 3x better than the ink api and thats why adobe has never implemented it.

    I don't see how this is the software developers fault. If Samsung was able to impliment Wintab into their tablet, I don't see what the problem is with Surface Pro. Both products use the same pen technology. Most developers would agree anyway that Ink API is buggy and incomplete.

    I'm going to be so disappointed if this pen driver is just an update to Ink API.

    Also me and and few others left a comment on the latest blog post regarding our suspicion, but as usual they went ignored (and it's not like they were too busy as the responded to others)

    I don't think it's unreasonable for MS to want developers to utilize the newer API's.  Wintab is old and if they want to move away from it, then fine, and that's on the developers to catch up. 

    Having said that...expectations should have been set with potential customers when the device launched so people wouldn't get the wrong idea (as they clearly did).  Between the announcement in June, when MS said that there was perfect Photoshop support, until release in February, someone was certainly aware that pressure sensitivity didn't work in Photoshop and many other programs.  Not only was nothing done to rectify that over so many months, nothing was done to communicate such a problem to the public.  If MS had said, "Pressure sensitivity is available, but check with your software vendor for support", I wouldn't have been waiting in line on day one.  I would have been reaching out to companies of the software I use regularly to figure out if this was a solution for me or if I should save my money and wait.
