The problem is Windows 10 installs on all sorts of devices and the base install doesn't know if its installed on a laptop, surface, desktop or toaster until it interrogates the hardware and bios. This is where it tries to be be clever. It now forces you
to use windows update to protect you from nasties and if it thinks you have the latest drivers etc it won't let you force roll back as far as I can see.
With the surface, MS has royally shafted it on numerous occasions and something in the last update naffed the firmware and windows 10 doesn't even know its a surface. They managed to not mess the pen up but the keyboard is gone, never existed not there never
gonna be there and is seemingly unfixable. I have tried everything and will probably sell the device as a tablet to some poor so and so. I am using a laptop to type this and stylish as the surface kit is it gets fundamentally broken by a company who charges
a fortune for bad service. Imagine taking a Ferrari for a service and they give it back and half of it no longer works. If you take the MS approach they would sell you a new one or you would just have to put up with the old one. What a load of tosh.
Seriously the only fix is a new one.......................
Not for me ever.
