@172 - My UEFI firmware has somehow automatically reverted to 109.3192.768.0, which is the original one I started with. BUT, my keyboard is still working.
Try doing only Step 2. I would be surprised if that worked, but it is worth a shot since it only takes a couple minutes.
Followed all you steps, but for the life of me I couldn't downgrade the UEFI to version 103.x.x.x, only to 108.x.x.x.x. Did that and uninstalled "I2C HID Device" under Human Interface Devices, rebooted TWICE and it worked. Like you, my UEFI updated to 109.3192.768.0 after reboot, but the type-cover still works. My guess is that the original 109.x.x.x driver was corrupted somehow and Windows downloaded a new, updated version? Anyway, it worked! Cheers!!!
