Mine seems to be working in all modes without any issues since the recent Google update.
Surface Duo 2 tap to pay using Google Wallet stopped working
Tap to pay using Google wallet when connected to an approved credit card is no longer working. The issue presented in the last few days prior to the security update. I've used it flawlessly for many months on this phone and now it refuses to work, it simply vibrates when tapped to a terminal. Not sure if it's google or microsoft in this instance but it's unlikely my bank after having spoken to them it seems to be more likely one of the former. Other Duo owners are reporting the same issue. Note that my loyalty cards still function OK with NFC Google wallet. I'm in Australia.

2023-09-28T14:42:16+00:00 I received OTA 'Google Play system update (labeled August 2023)' last week, that fixed the NFC pay along with the battery drain issue. I used to try often earlier, it didn't work every time, but since the Play update it has worked at the once when I tried recently.
