I have done some recent experimenting. My SB2 gets about half the speed my phone gets via WiFi. Mind boggling that my phone performs better. On a 150 mbps connection, my phone was getting 169mbps and my SB2 was getting 80 mbps. Seriously Microsoft ****?!
Slow Wifi with brand new Surface Book 2!!!
I am so beyond disappointed!! I bought one of the most expensive versions of the Surface Book 2 (i7, 15 inches, 512 GB) and it its wifi connection is only half the speed of my old i5 and i3 laptops!!! IT IS UNACCEPTABLE for the price I paid (almost 3000 dollars for the computer, and if you add accessories and extended warranty, more than 3600!!).
I have tried everything: resetting the network, reinstalling the wireless adapter drivers, resetting windows from scratch...everything!. I have a 100 Mbps connection at home and all my laptops and smartphones get wifi speeds around 45-50 Mbps, but the SB2 gets 20 Mbps and most of the time it does not even get to 10 Mbps.
I have been reading many other testimonies online of people experiencing the same. I feel scammed.
Not only that, it also seems that there is some kind of incompatibility with the design software I use (Sketchup and Vray). They work flawlessly in my older computers. They crash all the time with the Surface Book 2.
Seriously thinking about returning it. They pull you in with the shiny exterior, but it is a substandard product.

2019-05-13T18:40:11+00:00 I confirm that the problem appears on my SB2 after upgrade to version 1809. I did not experience it on the native 1703 version.

2019-05-03T10:40:55+00:00 I have the same issue. All wifi devices get almost double 10Mb, whereas my premium Surface Book 2 struggles to reach that.
It sounds like a driver issue so why hasn't it been fixed already?
Not good enough Microsoft.
I dont know that anyone is sure whether its a driver issue or hardware limitation.

2019-03-04T05:50:33+00:00 Had been having the same issue on my new Surface Book 2 15". My old surface Book 13" would work perfectly fine, but my new one always has very slow download speeds.
I did this and under the same "Advanced" setting tab I changed the band to be 5 GHz only rather than "Auto". Seems to have fixed the problem for the meantime. Will continue to monitor and provide updates if it reverts back to having issues.
