Slow Wifi with brand new Surface Book 2!!!

I am so beyond disappointed!! I bought one of the most expensive versions of the Surface Book 2 (i7, 15 inches, 512 GB) and it its wifi connection is only half the speed of my old i5 and i3 laptops!!! IT IS UNACCEPTABLE for the price I paid (almost 3000 dollars for the computer, and if you add accessories and extended warranty, more than 3600!!).

I have tried everything: resetting the network, reinstalling the wireless adapter drivers, resetting windows from scratch...everything!. I have a 100 Mbps connection at home and all my laptops and smartphones get wifi speeds around 45-50 Mbps, but the SB2 gets 20 Mbps and most of the time it does not even get to 10 Mbps.

I have been reading many other testimonies online of people experiencing the same. I feel scammed.

Not only that, it also seems that there is some kind of incompatibility with the design software I use (Sketchup and Vray). They work flawlessly in my older computers. They crash all the time with the Surface Book 2.

Seriously thinking about returning it. They pull you in with the shiny exterior, but it is a substandard product.

I have the same issue. Bought a new Surface Book 2 and typically only get 0-12 Mbps on my wifi from home.

I also have a 2015 Surface book 13" and can be on that at the exact same time from the exact same spot in my house getting 5 times the internet speeds. It makes no sense!

I do have dual band (2.4 Ghz and 5). Was there a specific solution that will fix this? I've spend hours on the phone with my internet provider and messing with speed tests. Was there a direct solution to this problem?

Don't expect anything to happen.  I have gone through multiple level one techs.  I finally got one who was willing to escalate.  He was actually asking for more information to pass on to managers and then suddenly he was taken off my case.  He had said he would contact me on a Monday.  I was contacted on the Monday by a new level one who said he went on holidays and wouldn't be back for 2 months.  Seems very weird, like a cover up.  I refused refurbished replacement because I know I will have the same issue.  They said we can't help you and there is nothing else they will do for me.

OK I have opened a case for this thread 1462014590 with Microsoft.  I have pointed them to this forum entry.

Is there anyone out there under warranty who can reproduce this problem at will? And would be happy to work with Microsoft to resolve this ?

    My problem is more intermittent.

Discussing with Microsoft we need reports created by this method showing the failure. If those getting the issue can get this let me know here and I will try and get these to Microsoft. I tried but first step failed. I have moaned a lot about this issue but have decided to try and move this forward in a more constructive way and act as a pathway and single point of contact into Microsoft. I will let you all know here of any updates good or bad.

Me too , please please open a problem with Microsoft through their help. I have already had my Surface Book 2 replaced for this issue and it does nothing. If you submit a problem please point them to this discussion as they dont appear to look at this. We all need a definitive answer on what they are going to do to fix this. It has to get back to their product development so it MUST be escalated past the dumb level 1 support folks who only have three answers if they cant find a fix on their system  the 3 R's Reboot, reinstall or replace.

But somehow things do get through or we would not have all these fixes coming down the pipe.
