Surface 4 Pro screen bulging at lower left edge and separated from the frame

I have a Surface 4 Pro that I purchased in March 2016. Over the last few days, I was seeing a considerable color bleed on lower left edge of the screen. Then I stared noticing that that type cover does not seem to close flat against the screen. On closer inspection, I found that the screen is bulging (curving out) on the lower left side and the screen edge has separated from the frame, exposing a gap, Some of the circuitry inside seems to be pushing out as well from what I can see through the gap, indicating something inside is exerting an outward pressure. I pushed the screen back in and with a little pressure it got flattened. However, after a few minutes use, the screen bulged out again. There is no physical damage to the screen, the bezel or the device in general, no cracks or scratches.

What is causing this and what is a possible solution?

    I have the same problem, but my system was purchased in 2016 and it is now 2021. The system still works, but wondering how to fix it.

    I'm absolutely in for raising the case against MicroSoft for forcefully selling the faulty devices as replacements for the devices under warranty to the first time customers of Surface Pro.

    Do we have any leads for the global revocation against Microsoft on the legal front where the customers can signup a petition.

    I prefer to join the same purpose than supporting small petitions. the volume of unsatisfied consumers against Microsoft shall teach them a lesson, though MS seems to be shameless about their product responsibility.

    Great to see someone with a possible solution RobertGraban; great pity MS didn't work that out long before so many of us found their Surface Pro screens expanding and dying with no recourse from the manufacturer. Well done, hope it continues working for you. Personally MS hardware will never see the inside of my credit card ever again!!

    What I found with 2 failed devices is that using a docking station or keeping it plugged in to AC for extended periods stresses the smaller of 2 batteries located in the clipboard portion, behind the screen. There is a way to set the clipboard battery to charge to only 50% (google it), which still gives 85% total battery capacity overall. Since I changed my setting, everything has been fine for about 18 months on m replacement Surface Book.

    Well everyone,

    Sounds like MS bought batteries from the same place Apple did. So I guess we just keep on plodding along until the batteries blow up.

    But hey, then we all can file a Class Action against MS and collect enough to get another maker's product.. Sounds like it is time to move around and away from MS.
