Battery drain overnight while shutdown

Lately, after I shutdown (full shutdown, not sleep or hibernate) my fully charged Surface Laptop 2 at night, I turn it on in the morning and find that the battery has lost around 25% power overnight! What's going on and how can I fix this? 

The laptop is only about 6 months old and the battery seems to be in good health.

October 10 release

    Can you or anyone confirm that this firmware on release preview is only for the SP5/SP6 and NOT the SP4?

    I tried joining and updating on my SP4. I got release 1909 of the OS, and some random firmware from 03/09, but not the firmware that others have been claiming fix all the problems. I saw no change.

    I'm also no longer sure what software my device is running... I clicked the slider to exit the program on the next stable release, and it no shows me from the "insider preview menu" that I'm out after a restart... but am I really out? Will I have a stable OS or should I already be resetting my surface for 10th time.

    I'm getting really sick of this mess... my surface is draining so fast now that I've added 8 cycles to the battery report in the last 2 weeks, and it went from 88% capacaity to 85% capacity in the last week. It's nuts because I can't just turn the device off properly, something is wrong and although I'm out of warranty I would consider spending the money to get another refurb.... except I don't even know if it will be fixed in the refurb.

    How can a company selling > $1000 high end tablet pcs do this **** without it destroying their rep?

    First, Microsoft has remained silent on whether this updated is intended to fix
    this issue.

    Second, this update is only available to Insiders, since Surface tests updates
    with Insiders (and refuses to document anything about these tests).

    Third, so if anyone wants to "test" to see if it solves the problem, the only
    solution is to join the Insiders Preview Ring (which has the least risk of all
    the Insiders rings).

    Fourth, no one knows when this firmware will be released for everyone and
    Microsoft won't comment.

    Thanks, Andrew, wish I could do more to help.. I'm really hoping that the
    firmware they released to Insiders for testing fixes this issue. I've sent three
    emails to an internal contact asking for info on this and have received no
    replies. You'd think they'd want customers to know that a fix is in testing..
