Surface Book 2 GPU Driver disappears randomly after May 2019 update

Hi, just recently installed the Windows 10 May update on my Surface Book 2. Now the GPU disappears randomly while in use. The only solution is to reboot the Surface Book 2, or go into the device manager and initiate a scan for the GPU to come back again. It has Nvidia Gforce GTX 1050 version 23.21.13.9140

Are there any plans for Microsoft to release an updated driver to fix this bug?

There are some updates that were pushed to PRODUCTION today https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4055398/surface-book-2-update-history You do NOT need to join Insiders to get these.

October 2019 updates

The following updates are available for all Surface Book 2 devices running Windows 10 April 2018 Update, version 1803 or greater:

    First, the lack of communications on this issue is appalling.

    Second, my OPINION is that it is more than a driver update that is needed.

    Because they finally blocked 1903 on Surface Book 2 (although if you manually

    check for updates, sadly it will still install), it sure appears that this is an

    issue with the OS as opposed to a driver. And they didn't block 1903 on Studio.

    It's really hard to say because Microsoft is not communicating with customers on

    this issue.

    Pretty sure its both a Windows 10 AND firmware/driver issue. There are multiple issues with the SB2 GPU. Blue screens, black screens, throttling, overheating, disconnects, sleep/hibernation recovery failures, etc.

    Barb I fully agree with you and as soon as I can I will bring this absurd thing to the attention of those in charge.

    Above €1500, communication and weekly updates MUST NOT be missing, otherwise it is useless to criticize Apple. The support they offer is 10,000 times better.

    The dGPU bug is one of the few unresolved bugs for the 1903 update.  Looks like it was acknowledged in July 2019 despite showing up in insider builds.  At least there's evidence Microsoft is aware of and working to resolve the bug. You can find the list here:
