Surface Pro 3 Wavy diagonal lines when inking

Yes, I have applied all updates.  

Here are some examples comparing the Surface Pro 3 writing slowly versus at normal speed, at 100% zoom, and at normal speed at 200% zoom, in OneNote.  I also show an Surface Pro 1 writing at normal speed at 90% and 200% zooms.  

On the SP3, writing slowly gives the worst results.  Writing normally at a normal zoom gives better results, but they are still unacceptable.  The strokes in almost every letter are jagged instead of smooth, and some letters have weird distortions (like the squashed 'o' and 'a' in "normally").  At the ends of letters there is often a small tail (e.g., at the top right of the letter 'W', but you can see the same things in quite a few other letters).  

On the SP3, writing at 200% zoom gives acceptable results.  The strokes are much smoother, and there are no longer tails added to the ends of letters.  

However, you can see that the SP1 gives just as good results writing at normal speed, at 90% zoom.  I think it is even slightly better than the SP3 at 200% (compare the '@' signs, for example, the SP1 is smoother).  

Although writing at 200% zoom gives acceptable results, I can't keep the screen zoomed in to 200% because then the screen shows half as much.  That makes the tablet useless for taking notes and also for presentations (I give lectures using OneNote).

Thanks for sharing this issue with the Community. I understand that your handwriting on your Surface Pro 3 looks erratic. I'll do what I can to help you with this issue.

In order to address this, we need some further information. We would like images which compare writing on your Pro 3 very slowly and at a more standard speed rather than the Pro 3 alongside the Pro. Also, could you verify that the writing looks worse when writing very slowly rather than very quickly. Is it that way, or is the other way around? Finally, have you installed all updates?

On my Surface Pro 3, when I write the line jiggles constantly about 1/2 a millimeter to either side of the writing tip.  Unless I zoom in to 200% (and write twice as large), this makes my handwriting look like I have hand tremors, and the results are unusable, much worse than with my Surface Pro.  

The jiggling is better if I do not rest my hand on the screen to write.  It might even be gone completely then.  But I can't be sure, because I can't write cleanly without resting my hand on the screen.  

Is this normal?  Is my pen/computer defective?  Any way to address the problem?  

Here is an example: 

The top is SP3 and the bottom a Surface Pro.  Compare the two letter l's in "Informally," for example, or the O in "Decomposition."  This is actually the best case scenario for SP3 (writing extremely slowly and carefully) and the worst-case scenario for the SP (writing very quickly).

It doesn't have anything to do with the pen in the instance of the Surface RT.. If you use a drawing app and draw a vertical line or horizontal line (with your finger or capacitance pen) it is perfectly straight. If you draw anything at an angle slowly, it creates a wavy line. If you draw it quickly, it is straight. This is the same problem that I have seen people complaining about on all of the devices thus far, and likely has to do with either the touch screen or the code used for calculating the line.

I think the problem must be with the pen. I bought a replacement Surface Pro 3 pen and while there are still some calibration issues (particularly in portrait mode), they definitely aren't as pronounced as they were with the original pen included with my device.
