I can access the Gmail address that received my Minecraft purchase receipt from August 9, 2025. However, when I sign into Microsoft using that exact Gmail address, the Microsoft account's Order History says there have been no purchases in the past 7 years. Minecraft/Xbox also says I don't own the game. My original Xbox gamertag was Salmoncap#8108. I have the original Minecraft order number and purchase receipt. I need help identifying the Microsoft account that the Minecraft purchase was actually made on. I can't access that account and my new account says that it doesn't own minecraft but uses the same email that I used the purchase minecraft on. I went to settings and there are 2 accounts for microsoft that says my email but when I click on both it just sends me to the same account

Use these checks to identify which Microsoft account actually owns the Minecraft purchase:

    1. Verify whether that Gmail address is currently a Microsoft account.
      • Go to the Microsoft account sign-in page and enter that Gmail address.
      • If Microsoft shows “We couldn't find an account with that username” or “That Microsoft account doesn't exist”, that address is not currently the Microsoft account that owns the purchase, or the account may have been closed.
      • If Microsoft shows a password prompt, that Gmail address is a Microsoft account.
    2. Check for the username inside products already signed in on the device.
      • On Windows 10/11: open Start > Settings > Accounts.
      • Under Email & app accounts, review the usernames associated with the device.
      • In Office apps such as Word or Excel: open the app, then go to File > Account and check Belongs to under Product Information.
      • Check email inboxes for Microsoft purchase receipts or subscription messages that may show which account was used.
    3. Check Xbox identity clues.
      • Since the remembered gamertag is Salmoncap#8108, use Xbox account details on any console or signed-in Xbox experience to help identify the Microsoft email tied to that gamertag.
    4. If the Gmail address signs in but shows no order history, the purchase was likely made on a different Microsoft account than the one currently being accessed.
      • This matches cases where a new Microsoft account was later created using the same email address, while the original purchase remained on the older account.
    5. If the original account now says it does not exist, use the Microsoft Sign-in Helper and account recovery guidance.
      • If the account has not been signed in to for more than two years, it may have been deleted and cannot be reopened.
      • If the sign-in email or security info was changed during account compromise, the accepted guidance in the provided support content is that recovery is handled only through the official automated recovery process.
    6. If no username can be found from Windows, Office, email receipts, or Xbox, check whether the account was closed.
      • The support guidance states that if the username still cannot be found after checking products and services, the Microsoft account may have been closed.

    Important limitation:

    • Microsoft Support agents are not allowed to provide account information without proper validation, and they cannot send password reset links or change account details.
