Double Profile Issue

Use these checks to identify which Microsoft account actually owns the Minecraft purchase:

1. Sign in to the Microsoft account order history page and review purchases under both account types if applicable: Personal account and Work account. The purchase will only appear under the account that completed the transaction.
2. On any Windows 10/11 device where Minecraft was previously used, open Start > Settings > Accounts and check Email & app accounts. This shows the usernames associated with the device and can help identify the Microsoft account tied to the purchase.
3. In an Office app such as Word or Excel, go to File > Account and check Belongs to under Product Information. That can reveal the Microsoft account currently associated with the device.
4. Check all email accounts for Microsoft purchase receipts, including alternate addresses that may have been used as the sign-in name. A Gmail address can be used with a Microsoft account, but the purchase may belong to a different Microsoft account than the one currently being signed in.
5. If the game showed as owned on an older PC, open the Microsoft Store there, select the profile icon, and verify which Microsoft account is signed in. That exact account is the one that owns the Minecraft license. Also check the Xbox app on that PC and confirm the profile matches.
6. If the purchase is not in order history for the current account, and the gamertag no longer matches, check other Microsoft accounts' order history. A purchased or redeemed license remains in the owning account's order history.
7. If signing in with the original Gmail now shows no purchases and the original account appears missing, the account may have been compromised and a new Microsoft account may have been created later with the same Gmail address. 8. Microsoft Support advocates cannot provide account information without proper validation, and they cannot access or change account details directly. The best evidence to use during recovery is the original purchase receipt, order number, previous passwords, and any account details remembered.

If the goal is only to identify the account, the most direct path is: check the Microsoft Store and Xbox sign-in on the old device, then compare that account with Windows Settings > Accounts > Email & app accounts and the order history page.
