how to fix Microphone?

Recently my internal laptop microphones completely stopped working. it was fine during 14/9/2026 but after messing with FL Studio for awhile, my Microphone refuses to pick up any audio at all. Ive gotten microsoft support today but none worked. This is driving me crazy, any suggestions?

    Let's install the Chipset driver using Command Prompt:

    Open the extracted Chipset driver folder.

    Click the address bar in File Explorer, type cmd, and press Enter.

    In the Command Prompt window, run this command:

    pnputil /add-driver *.inf /subdirs /install

    Wait for the installation to finish and check for any errors.

    Restart your laptop.

    Please let me know if the installation completes successfully or displays an error message.

    If this does not work, please try downloading and installing the latest Chipset driver and BIOS update from the manufacturer's support page and let me know how it goes.

    You likely have installed KB5124008 update. Some other users reported similar issue after that update. So you can uninstall KB5124008 update to fix the issue that it causes. The KB5124008 update fixes a large number of vulnerabilities, including actively exploited zero‑days. Uninstalling it significantly reduces your security posture, so you should only uninstall and test if microphone (or other critical features) doesn't work and you need them.     In case you want to uninstall:

    1. Open Settings > Windows Update > Update history > Uninstall updates.
    2. Uninstall KB5124008

    Thank you for updating me with that information. Press Start then search Device Manager

    Expand Sound, video and game controllers

    Find the Realtek Audio Driver

    Right click it and select Uninstall device

    Tick "Attempt to remove the driver for this device"

    Click Uninstall

    After that, download and install the latest Audio driver for your device using the link below.

    Since Microsoft Support has already tried some troubleshooting steps, could you share which solutions you've attempted so far? This will help me avoid repeating the same steps.

    Also, could you provide your laptop's make and model and confirm whether the internal microphone works in other apps, such as Voice Recorder?

    Press Start then search msinfo to open System Information
