Excessive price increase

This email came from you today....."Starting on 14/05/2025, the price for your Microsoft 365 Family subscription will change from AUD 139.00/year to AUD 179.00/year. "
This is totally excessive and wholly unjustified. I am completely uninterested in using your copilot system. All I want is the Word Excel and PowerPoint on my Mac.

I've seen some responses that suggest I can cancel and subscribe to MS 365 classic for cheaper.. But this not available in Australia. Are we Guinea pigs here to see how much you can gouge out of ordinary people. Shame on you and your ethics.

I think this move by you signals my final association with Microsoft and its products after nearly 40 years.

    This is not the case for everyone. Many have confirmed that depending on your region or your plan, the downgrade is not available for everyone.

    I'm strongly considering moving out of the MS eco system after 23 years.

    AI free, sure ok. I'll play with it.

    AI paid, no thanks. Not enough value.

    AI forced upgrade. I'm out and never coming back. Just depends on how quick I can migrate data out to another provider.

    Bad move M$.

    I wrote to the ACCC back in November 2024, and they wrote back with an in depth reply, but with the suggestion of contacting Fair Trading in my State f NSW.

    Copy of that part of the reply:

    "Your next steps

    If writing to the business doesn’t resolve your dispute, we would suggest you contact NSW Fair Trading. Unlike the ACCC, which focuses on broad and national issues, your local consumer protection agency may be able to help resolve your dispute by negotiating an outcome. Find out more about how to make a complaint to NSW Fair Trading on its website.

    If they’re unable to help, you may need to take your complaint to your state or territory small claims tribunal."

    Fully agree, they need to understand the customer , they leave Microsoft will cease to exist.

    The company is worth billions and making billions, yet with the cost of living costs around the world right now, they decide on this huge price increase.

    Please, please will someone give them some competition so that they don't have to be a grossly overpriced, basically stealing company.

    No chance I am going to spend anything on them that I need to. Sony and Steam all the way now for gaming.

    All sense of human values lost with this increase.

    Yup, will cancel my office , and i will switch from Xbox to PlayStation, Microsoft price gouging goes to far.... cancelled auto renewal, but no Basic version offered sadly. So #byebye Microsoft, as I am not ur Money pig. 30% is too much, not doing it.

    Currently in SG they gave one month free, so i cancelled, then re join, and got an extra month lol. Will do it a few times.
