Why has there been a 50% increasing the price of Microsoft 365 Personal? This is an extraordinary increase and unaffordable for most people .

Update: I have had to do the same . BUT today I received notification that "classic" will be charged at the higher rate on my renewal date in a week's time. Seems like Microsoft are determined to force everyone onto some product they neither want nor need. It remains to be seen exactly how much I get charged. As always it is impossible to talk to a real person to sort the mess out.

Here's a thought - instead of massively increasing the price and forcing what it turns out is a new product onto existing subscribers, leave us as we are and send us an email advising that the new Microsoft Copilot 365 Family is now an option if we want to spend more money?

Good news is I have 9 months to get off my butt and setup the cloud storage features on my NAS and shift my document editing to my Workspace account.

I tried to follow the instructions to indicate that I preferred " classic" . I went to "manage" my subscription, but found no mention of " classic". My subscription is on auto renew for Sept 25. To avoid the increase, is my only option to cancel completely ?

I'm not using the AI feature. In fact I was uninstalling it after every update ever since it was packaged up.

Why should I be paying a whooping 50% increase in price for something I'm not using and don't intend to use?!

Why is it not made optional upgrade version? I'm sure there are plenty of users who are using AI feature daily and will be more understanding of the price hike.

You made it a yearly subscription instead of a once of licence purchase to grab more money. You've been increasing it by 10% each year, but this time it's out of control robbery!!

My 365 Personal subscription should not be automatically upgraded to one with AI and incur a price hike of $50AUD/year, and then call the new Classic a "saving". Especially when 365 Personal Classic is the same price to what I'm currently paying. I should have been given the option to upgrade, if I wanted to.

Worse, the option to keep my current conditions was not mentioned in my price increase email. This feels exploitive. If I hadn't looked, I would have either paid the increase, or left (which was my intention). Where in this email does it say 'you also have the option to keep 365 without AI, at the same price'? I imagine there are plenty of people that will simply pay the increase, without knowing they have the option to keep their current price. If MS really wants to build trust and loyalty with customers, it needs to be more transparent. Be better.
