I moved my database from microsoft works. Does it Work??

OK, I tried to screen shot by pressing the print screen key and it did not work. I don't usually do that on my computer. I assume all that that is in your window is your Access data. Mine doesn't have all that. plant.accdb/Access 2007 - 2016 file format. Does that help??

The problem here is we do not know what you are doing. It sounds like someone moved the DATA into your new computer so that it can be viewed in Access. So please describe, step by step, what exactly you are doing to view the data. Screenn shots would help.
Let's focus on the Access (Not "Office") database that the computer person gave you.
I assume this is an accdb file. Is that correct?
Can you open the accdb file in Access?
Can you take a screenshot of the Navigation Pane in the accdb and post it here? If so, please do that. It should look like this, but with your tables.
The table is called plant-cat. In Works it was called plant.cat.
I want to manually select data through the process of Designing. And I am continually editing along the way until I get to a final selection. I thought that I would add a field and call it a selection field. that way I could add my clients name. But a window pops up that says that my database is compromised and I cannot do it. What do you suggest??
