How can I find the folder on my computer that is actually on my PC hard drive and not on One Drive?

"I am subscribed to 1 TB OneDrive to backup my computer's D and E inner drives sized 979 GB and 883 GB respectively.

After having backup-ed the drives in OneDrive, the data reappear again in the C: OneDrive folder clogging it with 507 GB and not leaving room for additional programs. Why do I have the same data twice in the computer? Please, what solution is suggested?"

The OneDrive folder by default is on the C drive unless you move it to another drive. Your files are synced to the online OneDrive from that folder. If you choose to keep it on the C drive then use the "Free up space" option suggested in the reply above.

Thanks but I am trying to remove my duplicates - except I want to select the folder on my actual computer, *not* my OneDrive and yet it's masking it as OneDrive, there is no way to select my actual folder on my pc, why? I want to back it up on hard drive because I don't trust OneDrive. How can I find the folder on my computer that are actually on my PC hard drive and *not* One Drive?

    Thanks, but I am still trying to work out what is on C locally vs. what is on my OneDrive since my OneDrive either deleted at least 1GB of my data but I don't know which data :-(. Right now I am trying not to work on my PC to let the OneDrive "look for changes" and sync and download, but after a while it gets interrupted and it asks me to "reconnect my onedrive" with a red X mark. So I have no clue as to what is going on anymore or where my files are. All I want is to have all my files saved and downloaded locally so that I can uninstall onedrive so that I can work with the files the way I prefer. Also the sizes don't match, as I posted in a thread that I thought was deleted (thank you for reinstating the lost thread). See below screenshots: Thank you for all your help, Craig! Paulina

    If you are going to store your files on an SSD that is not your C drive, don't do anything until you get that drive. Then just either move or copy the files to that SSD drive. Once you have your data on the SSD, you can delete files on your C drive.

    If you can't make this work on your C drive, remove your files from that drive and get them on the separate SSD. That all you need to do for now.

    omg. I think I just messed up! So before I saw this message, I was reading the help links and I *unlinked" my OneDrive, then I pressed "Quit" onedrive as it was still screwing up my "save as" function. Prior to doing this, I checked and I had 946GB free on my C drive, but now I have 948GB free on C drive! Does that mean that I accidentally deleted 2GB of data inadvertently? I did not delete Onedrive, all I did was I unlinked it and then in the task bar, I right clicked on "quit" Please let me know. Thanks, Paulina

    Please see my last reply, which has been updated with more information. If you unlink OneDrive without first ensuring you have green icons, your files with cloud icons will be missing. If you had blue cloud icons, you had better sign into OneDrive again and let your files download until you see green icons.

    How would I know if I deleted the OneDrive folder? I just logged back into OneDrive into my "old folder" and now the amount free on C is 947GB not 946GB so I don't know where the 1GB went to. All my folders are with the blue icon? I want to get rid of this and store everything on C and use a SSD which I don't have an extra one right now. Trying not to lose my precious data! Thanks for your help, this is so confusing, it's impossible to trust it. Paulina
