How to disable or remove Copilot in Office 365 Personal

Why not look at ditching Microsoft full stop and going something else, I have had enough of this **** from Microsoft, I am researching other options

After much badgering a microsoft sales staff last night on chat, I managed to get them to purchase and checkout the classic product (on my behalf) which cannot be found on any public websites.

It does exist but they do not display it for purchase publically, nor have any documentation on it willing to send to me, but the price was the $11, not $16, and called classic.

In saying that, i went to bed and thought about it more, and got up and went another way because of their greedy conduct and have since unsubscribed all their products after 25 years and set myself up cheaper, elsewhere.

I am happy to share my solution with anyone who wants to PM me.

Good riddance MS. You are going to lose alot of customers from your co-pilot push and confusion exit from your products to the masses.

I am so fed up with this. I've spent two days online and on call to Microsoft help trying to get rid of Copilot - which interferes with my work and slows Word down. There is no option to change my subscription in my account. No one in the help desk knows how to fix this. All anyone can tell me to do is uninstall, download a new version but DO NOT update it so that you don't get Copilot. That's what I've had to do to get back to work. But I can no longer share my subscription with my university student daughter as any app that utilizes AI means an automatic fail for her course. What exactly am I paying for? I've wasted time and energy on trying to get rid of a product I didn't ask for, don't want, and apparently can't opt out of.

I'm in New Zealand. Does anyone know how I can change my subscription to Family Classic?

Microsoft has recently been experimenting with new Microsoft 365 subscriptions (including the AI tool Copilot) to meet the needs of different users. As a result users in some areas may notice some changes to Microsoft 365 with Copilot being added to Microsoft 365.I fully understand the inconvenience this may cause, especially for some users who do not expect to use this AI feature.

If you prefer to use Microsoft 365 apps without Copilot at all. Please refer to the following to try to switch back to your old subscription.

• Visitaccount.microsoft.com/services.
• Select the Microsoft 365 Personal subscription you have and select “Manage”.
• Select “Unsubscribe”.
• View “Switch to a subscription that suits you better” and select “Microsoft 365 Personal Classic”.
• After following the instructions to complete your subscription. Your subscription will automatically renew to Classic when its existing subscription expires.

However, the above method is for switching your subscription to Classic and you will not be renewing your subscription to Microsoft 365 Personal with Copilot, but since the update to the Microsoft 365 app has already been completed, you may not see the changes to the features and interface in 365 right away.

We recommend that you uninstall your current version of Microsoft 365 and click on the link below to install the Microsoft 365 installer that I have provided for you, install it and log in to see if the Copilot service is now gone.

I, too, want to remove Copilot. The link provided does not help at all. If I remove Microsoft Word and download another Microsoft Word program will that remove Copilot? Copilot is interfering with my work! Help!
