Processes in Microsoft 365 for setting up Office apps, redeeming product keys, and activating licenses.
I have a partial solution. In Word (or any Office app):
- Go to File > Account.
- Click 'Manage Settings' under 'Account Privacy'
- Deselect all the options relating to 'Connected Experiences'.
- Click OK.
Note: This might disable some things like Clipart and templates that require downloads. It seems like Microsoft want to make it hard to disable Copilot by tying it in with things some people will want to keep enabled.
The annoying 'Draft with Copilot' icon still appears on the left when you have the cursor in an empty space, but it's not functional, and I think all other traces of Copilot are gone.
For those of us who find that icon distracting, it's sadly not a perfect solution, but it's better than nothing.
What a hero thank you :-)
I switched back to previous version.
But will now try this.
many thanks
