Is Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant (SaRA) Dead? November 2024. I see its migrated to Get Help.

I can't seem to open it anymore.

It was my very effective tool to troubleshoot Office application problems.

Can you help provide alternatives? and must be a Microsoft product like SaRa.

Please post it as soon as you got an answer.

I am facing a lot of pressure for no reason. The tool was working very fine in checking and identifying enduser's OneDrive issues with just few clicks. With in 5 minutes, the user was back to work.

Now we have to update everything to install "Get Help" including Engineering, Networking Help desk and Security Teams. Not to mentioned that Get Help is part Microsoft Store, which we have it completely disabled. It's just not worth it.

I don't understand why Microsoft dropped years of Feedback for a tool that actually worked, with no warning.

After Bumbling through this dogwater program's prompts, I finally landed here for uninstallation (Office, still not sure about onedrive*) https://prod.support.office.com/en-us/f1/topic/9dd49b83-264a-477a-8fcc-2fdf5dbf61d8?context=%7b%22themeid%22%3a%220%22%2c%22issasfeedbackenabled%22%3a%22true%22%2c%22isassistedhelpenabled%22%3a%220%22%2c%22isdeeplinkingenabled%22%3a%220%22%7d&isassistedhelpenabled=0&isdeeplinkingenabled=0&issasfeedbackenabled=true&ns=NULL&themeid=0&wt.mc_id=O365_Portal_MMaven&ocid=OO_Core_NEU_GetHelp_DG_GetHelp_Solutions

It opens the Get Help application and asks for consent to uninstall office.

I'm working now and don't have a testbench, so uninstalling my own office woulld be pretty detremental to my day, but I will try to send an update when I test this tomorrow on a user's machine.

    Honestly Microsoft, just stop.

150% - I think the get help runs the command line SARA office scrub ok, but some remnants get left behind or processes keep running that block older or local installs of office using xml. I wiped a surface pro and it installed fine so it's not my xml or anything other than the new SARA tool not doing as good of a job somehow...

are the other office wipe tools 3rd party that work as well to scrub the entire machine? would I need to do the cmd line sara scrub on all user accounts perhaps?

    maddening.....
