OneDrive: Shared folders are only available via internet shortcut

I am having problems with shared folders in OneDrive. They are showing up as internet shortcuts only, I used to have them in File Explorer as a folder that I would click on to access content of that shared folder. My IT person found a website stating that Microsoft is aware of this issue. When will this be fixed?

I have @hotmail account sharing with @live.com (in fact in same family account) and having the issue (started couple of weeks ago or so). So no, it's not cross-vendors specific.

Exactly the same for me too. Google email as Microsoft account.

Opened an issue with Microsoft, no response. Might as well change to a different cloud provider.

My situation is a bit different. I had a folder in my OneDrive shared with my wife. Today, I noticed that the folder was missing and replaced with a shortcut TO THE FOLDER IN THE ONEDRIVE OF MY WIFE!!!

So, Microsoft decided to move the folder to her OneDrive and reverse the sharing rights!?!??!

I copied the folder on her laptop to an external disk, deleted all references to the folder on both laptops, and copied the folder back to my OneDrive.

Then, I shared the folder with her again.

Now, she has the shortcut problem.... sigh......

I switched from Dropbox to One drive and now I'm completely regret about that. Their technical support is ridiculous.
