A Microsoft file hosting and synchronization service.
And it just gets better...
So, this morning I now turn on my PC to be greeted with OneDrive suddenly processing ~675,000 changes. Yes - that's ~675 thousand changes. At the current rate over a 1Mbps broadband circuit it looks like this is going to take somewhere in excess of 60 hours to complete. I'll say it again: SIXTY HOURS of continuous processing on my PC and broadband.
Curiously the URL link to the shared folders now appears to have disappeared altogether. But as yet, there is no new link showing as it used to.
Whether or not this is the resolution I have no idea, but I guess we'll find out in a few days after completing this utterly pointless exercise to re-synch all of my content that just 9 hours before was perfectly in synch. My guess is that my data has been migrated to whatever new platform is designated for OneDrive, and so the whole lot has to be re-confirmed.
In fairness, the load on my PC is not so bad that I can't do anything on it. But I'm loathe to start messing with any OneDrive content as I have no idea what is happening and whether making changes will make the situation worse.
If I was working for Microsoft, I might start thinking about preparing an insanity plea...
