Check your Office settings and make sure that the Options > General > Privacy Settings.. screen has the "All connected experiences" option enabled so that you can then enable the "Experiences that download online content" option. (These are the steps for my Office 2016 Professional Plus running on Windows 10.) This should allow you to access the online Help system.

I was going to try this but when I hit the Privacy Settings button, the program crashes (Outlook, Excel, Word...). ??

Wanted to update community. After following the procedure in my previous post, today I attempted to update from within Outlook and was able to successfully update to latest version,17830.20166. As I stated then, I understand this does not work for all, but may work for some.

I'm running MS Office LTSC Pro Plus 2024 Preview and my version is Build 2407 - Version 16.0.17830.20056.

    When I try to manually update to 20166, I get Error 30183-27 (400). ...

    Hi Peter SzS:

I'm not familiar with the Microsoft Office LTSC 2024 (Long Term Servicing Channel) Preview described in the 18-Apr-2024 BleepingComputer article Microsoft Office LTSC 2024 Preview Available for Windows, Mac since it's only intended for beta testing for commercial customers. See the Microsoft Learn support article Install Office LTSC Preview, which notes that "This preview program isn't intended for home users of Office".

That said, if you currently have Preview Version 2407 / Build 17830.20056 (rel. 15-Jul-2024) then the release history for the Insiders Preview (BETA) Channel at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdates/update-history-current-channel-preview suggests you should have received Preview Version 2408 / Build 17928.20018 (rel. 05-Aug-2024) if your automatic updates were working correctly.

If you need help manually updating your Microsoft Office LTSC 2024 Preview installation using the command prompt method described in my 12-Aug-2024 post <above> post back and let us know your operating system and current Office 2024 version number shown at Control Panel | Program | Programs and Features. I'm not sure if MS Office 2024 C2R version numbers still start with 16.0.xxxxx.xxxxx.

    The latest from Microsoft

This is Max from M365 Tech expert, I will be taking over this case from hereon as Dominic had a schedule change.

I see you have issues on version (Build 17726.20126 Click-to-Run) And as i noticed almost all users with the version is experiencing this issue.

My recommendation for this one is to stop the office from getting updates for now until such time the back end would be familiar and come up with a fix. Until then I suggest reverting to previous version 20164.

Please follow this instruction, Share it across your peers if helpful.

On windows search box have the command prompt open.

    Run it as administrator

    enter these details.

    cd %programfiles%\Common Files \Microsoft Shared\ClickToRunofficec2rclient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.17

    628.20164

    OR
    cd %programfiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun\
    OfficeC2RClient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.17628.20164

After you have done this Disable the update under Update options in your office Apps.

Please confirm to me back if you have done the steps and if this is a good fix for now. until such time the back end would fix the issue this is I recommend you to apply.

    Thank you,
