Sometimes the task for "Office Automatic Update 2.0" runs through without an error message (0x0) (like above), sometimes not and an error message appears. I have no clue or found a pattern why that happens this way.

Boy, that's kind of odd. I've looked through Task Scheduler and I always get, "The process terminated unexpectedly".

I have also noticed this since the error message started with version 2406 (build 17726.20126). Here is my screenshot.

But the conclusion is that trying to update Office manually always ends up in the error code 30088-27 (at least for me).

PS: Although the task "Office Automatic Update 2.0" runs through without an error, Office doesn't update to a newer version on its own.

    Hi Great White North,

Just checked my task scheduler and, ditto; same thing. Thanks for the response.
