I wonder if it is location and/or language related? I am using English Australian and, to state the bleeding obvious, I am in Australia.

I wish someone official from Microsoft would post some real facts and information rather than making us all waste time guessing at what the problem might be.

Just updated Windows 10 and .NET to the latest versions available today and still no update joy.

I also, turned enabled all of the online options in the Privacy Settings list just to see if that made a difference and, no it didn't. Still the same old update errors.

Add another one to the list of users fed up with this nonsense and lack of care or interest from Microsoft.

I can only hope that Office 2024, and Outlook in particular, finally fixes all the outstanding bugs so I can upgrade and just move on.

From MSO ver 17830-20138: Error 30088-27, Help not working.

2 PCs running Windows 10 MSO 2016 Pro

    2 PCs running WIndows 11 MSO 2021

Options > Privacy> "Turn on all connected experiences" and "experiences that download online content" enable both radio buttons. Restart MSO. Close MSO.

Run MSO repair with online option.

Update now works with "You're up to date" message, Help works.

This has been successful for me on all machines. Its apparent that this error relates to MSO failing to connect to required updates.

I hope this works for some of you if not all.

I can also confirm that rolling back to previous versions still has the error. They broke something very badly and they have no clue how to fix it or they have no incentive to fix it. They broke it at the expense of trying to be invasive on your privacy. They broke it in the name of Copilot. They broke it in the name of pushing the new version out. Microsoft is broken and it's time we all face facts... it's time to move on. We had a good run. Find other software.

The fact that their only 'solution' is to tell people to "roll back" to the May update (ie. Version 2405, Build 17628.20110).....

And that solution is pretty poor since the issue still exists with that build. I actually did just try a roll back to Build 17628.20110 and I still get the error code with that version (how is that possible?).

Clearly, they broke something with that previous update and whatever they broke is NOT resolved by reverting to an earlier build. I think what really irritates me more than anything is support, agents, etc., posting ineffective workarounds that do not much more than waste users' time.

I also get the "slacking off" part when they're going to release a new retail version, but what about the subscription customers? Are they not trying to move those customers to the subscription model? if they are, then they need to do a LOT better in terms of support. I, and I suspect a lot of other folks, are not going to continue paying an annual fee if they can't support their subscription product.
