Folders Shared with me are syncing as internet shortcut in OneDrive on Windows PC

Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

    I still see the shortcuts in my OneDrive folder on my PC. I don't know what the priority is for updates, but this has been an issue for over a year. Unacceptable. Meanwhile, the charges keep coming, and they even increase. What is the point of rising costs and a decline in service? Microsoft, fix this mess. This is getting frustrating!

    Yes, here too.

    I also seem to have been migrated as have my sharers (I think/hope)

    I am having the same issue with subfolders, people cannot see some subfolders when they could before. I have reported this as a Feedback, no idea if that goes anywhere useful in Microsoft.

    However, if you create a new top level folder, copy the old subfolders into that, and then of course go through the whole sharing process again, sharing the top level folder only, users can then see all the way down the folder chain. Or at least the few who have tested with me have.

    NB: The sharing process has had some changes done to it and it is now IMHO about as intuitive as a rock.

    And of course documentation is biased towards business users and not Family Subscription users, doc specific to subscription is always almost impossible to find
    I am not a fan of links as they can be passed on, so I try to avoid using them. The new system appears to be desperate to create at least one link.

    It also reports more links having been created in the "Details" view than when you actually click into the "Manage Access" dialog.

    I am also now getting some VERY VERY ODD results when trying to remove old folders after copying contents into a new version of the top folder.
    The new folder which I and another could see quite happily has disappeared from my "shared with" account but other can still see it.

    It seems the cluster may be a little different now, but the F%$" is still the same.

    I'm facing the same issue and what i realised is that I can just create a new folder and move all the files to the new folder. The problematic users should be able to view and edit these newly created folders with no issues.

    This is unusual and annoying but at least there is a workaround. I was also unable to identity what "types" of folders cannot be viewed and have to rely on users' feedback to create the new folders.
