Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

Same honestly, all my spreadsheets are on onedrive. Work that used to take 20 min is now taking at least an hour due to not being able to work locally. Microsoft, any updates? A reply would be nice?

I agree. It is more than disappointing that Microsoft just keep us all in the dark. They certainly give the impression that they do not care about the consequences to their customers. If I treated my customers like this, I would not have any.

I think the concensus is that the old ones have the search option on onedrive.live.com. Initially posters here thought it was the other way round because they had created new accounts and those accounts had the search option. It seems however that users have to be migrated to another platform and when one end of a share gets migrated the shares become links, but when the other users are migrated it all starts working again. That is certainy how it worked for me. As others have posted before, both sides of the share have to be on the same platform for sharing to work, otherwise it reverts to links. I don't think there is any bug or a broken OneDrive, it is just incompatibility between the old and new hosting platforms.

Assuming my understanding is correct, it is disgusting that Microsoft haven't issued a statement to let everyone know, and instead leaving thousands of users frustrated and wasting lots of time trying to fix it themselves.

Can anyone say for sure which is the new and which is the old version? The one with the search or the one without?
