Folders Shared with me are syncing as internet shortcut in OneDrive on Windows PC

Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

    What I don’t understand is that there are many people who have had this problem in 2024, has their problem been solved in the meantime? or are they still trying to find a solution?

    In my family I have two cases:
    My wife never could access a shared folder in Finder, this is permanent. But her Mac was on an older OS version.
    Since she does not use them quite often she works with the online version in the browser. Thats a a small bypass for some cases.

    I have the problem suddenly on one of my Macbook Pro with lastest OS. There two folder that formerly were in Finder disappeared!
    This is known for me since some days and it is really bad for me. Since there I have fotos that I modifiy within Lightroom Classic I am not able to work any more on that! Here I need the files locally,
    Microsoft wrote to me
    " ... We take the situation you described very seriously. At present, Microsoft has confirmed that this is a known issue, and the engineering team has now stepped in to deal with it, but as the fix needs to be synchronized to verify the stability of multiple platforms, the complete solution will still take a certain period of time. ...." 

    And the funny thing is, the problem seems not to be permanent!
    An hour ago I could see the two "disappeared" folders in the selection menu of folder to be synced. (see below)

    But now the two folders are not any more selectable :-(

    What is Microsoft's definition of "temporary". Seems to have been going on for months. Any resolution in sight?

    It is now March 2025. Just how seriously are they taking this? I have the same problem. Unacceptable that we sit with this issue.
