How do I get Copilot off my Android phone? I didn't want Copilot taking over my phone screen and DEMANDING that I login to Microsoft Copilot AI to continue using my phone. I use Excel on my phone, Microsoft 365 installed itself without permission like a virus and now I have to fight for control of my phone every time someone sends me a spreadsheet. Copilot doesn't exist as an app that can be disabled. It has no control panels or switches. It's a malicious unwanted program. By definition a malware.

My wife is from South Africa. All the students in her family are very poor and can't even afford the data to run microsoft products. The subscriptions may as well be a Rolls Royce to them, they are about as affordable.

I made the mistake of subscribing to office 365. It wasn't just a few software programs as I wanted. It turned into control over all my files, devices etc. leading to my loss of control over my personal property. The simple software suite was all I wanted. Not the confiscation of all my data to the cloud etc.etc. I have the best product microsoft ever made in my opinion, windows 7. Now my computers barely work due to the bloated products my computers cant even run and zero support from microsoft. I am on social security and cant afford new computers every couple years but rely on my computers like everyone else.
I've gone one better and cancelled my 365 Subscription altogether.
I've found free alternative products for everything Microsoft offers.
If i really need to use a MS product I use the free online version.

I am retired after 36 years in corporate IT, cloud services and cyber security. Everything I ever did was windows based (since Win95!). I'm used to the OS. But this push to cloud and AI... IMHO is unnecessary. Not for a retiree whose whole IT world is contained to a laptop in a bedroom in a home. I'm a functional adult, perfectly capable of writing my own Emails and letters, of critically thinking through my own research, and I have enough external storage devices that keeping my **** on a "Cloud" is pointless.
I am going to keep with Thunderbird. I really like Mozilla - I use Firefox because I can install extensions that block all the **** that Edge allows. Thunderbird feels really, intrinsically basic - and it is all that I really need, but thanks for the pointer! Noted.
My technological life right now is contained to a Microsoft Surface laptop. In a past life, I actually was quite proficient with Unbutu (Linux), and that OS will be my fallback when MS decides that my current PC needs to be replaced.
