i can not take credit i found this back in 2020 or 21 in the community

i was receiving same error as well as cannot setup pin errors when signing in to Azure joined device

we did not see a duplicate in the Email & Accounts, but did the command to make sure ,and it worked

    this what i found

"We dealt with this a bunch in our environment. What we found is that some PC’s were showing duplicate accounts under “Email & Accounts” in settings. So, for example, when loading up the settings app in Windows and going into the “Email & Accounts” section, you might see 2 listings for user account “John.Doe@keyman .com”. This appears to cause issues in Windows (and Office), including with Hello setup. Not sure why the duplicate account shows up, but the solution is to go to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_cw5n1h2txyewy\AC\TokenBroker and rename the “accounts” folder to “accounts.old” and reboot. The duplicate account will be gone after a reboot, and Hello should properly complete set up. We’ve also noticed this fixing several other issues, including Office 365 randomly showing “unlicensed product” for a user with an active E5 license. Whenever duplicate accounts show up, it eventually causes issues!"

    hope it helps

we had the same issue right after changing the password for an account. we was able to solve such issue by deleting the work account in the computer settings -> account section and add the account again.

Maybe. I was given an option to try, but I have to wait until the user comes back to work to test with them.

Option: Set Teams to compatibility mode for Windows 8

    1. Click the Start button, and scroll through the list of applications until you get to Microsoft Teams.
    2. Right-click on Teams, then select "More", then select "Open file location"
NOTE: this opens up a profile specific location to a shortcut of Microsoft Teams, so this will have to be done for every affected user.

    1. Right-click on the Teams shortcut and select Properties.
    2. Click on the Compatibility tab.
    3. Under "Compatibility mode" select the checkbox for "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select "Windows 8", then click OK.

Let me know if that works for you.

    This WORKED for me:

Disconnect and reconnect your work or school account on your PC. This can help refresh your credentials and permissions for your Microsoft account. To do this, go to Settings > Accounts > Access Work or School and select your account, click on Disconnect, and then open OneDrive and log back in.

This worked for me as well. Thanks!

    Rhoda,

I'm getting the same error message when my client is trying to sign into MS Teams and OneDrive desktop apps on Windows 11 laptop. Multiple users use the same laptop, with their own local (non-admin) accounts, but they have their own Office 365 E3 licenses/logins. They are successfully signed into the Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc), but Teams and OneDrive are separate and giving issues.

I've tried uninstalling and re-installing Office, but the issue persists. I tried clearing the TPM cache, but the issue persists. I tried updating the registry key listed at https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com/forum/all/keyset-does-not-exist-outlook-throw-an-error-if-i/4205d705-10ca-4dbf-acca-a851c45bd212, but the issue persists.

What do I need to try next?

    v/r,

    Rich
