I want to sue Microsoft -- OneDrive has hijacked all my local files and there's no way to retreive it!!!!

Thank you for that. I went on ftc.gov and wrote them of my experience. I expect to hear nothing back from them, however I feel it's important for them to hear user's stories.

I have a ton of emails and documented phone calls from "Ken", part of the Microsoft escalation team to validate my problems.

After somehow crawling out of their invasion, two weeks ago I was locked out of my computer. One hundred percent locked out. I called "Ken". He failed to get me back in like he failed the first time.

If anyone asks me how I managed to to break through either without losing any of my files, I wouldn't know what to say except, be dogged no matter how many times they blockade you. No matter how many times they tell you you've asked too many times and you're cut off for 24 hours. Wait 48 hours when you know what they expect from you.

Most importantly, write every direction down in list form. Have everything on a document so you can copy/paste at the speed of light.

I need to win a lottery so I can buy a MAC. Neither are perfect but Apple does not break into your home and install Operating Systems, put your life online, and try to extract money for a subscription you didn't ask for or want. I had to change my bank card only because of Microsoft.

I live in Silicon valley, and I know several Microsoft employees (mostly engineers). I think they know their problem. But as long as the company keeps on making big profit, their stock value keep on rising, they are not going to rock the boat.

If we want send them a notice they can understand, we need to find a way to drag down MSFT's stock price.

I signed on to OneDrive in Feb 2024 (due to some misunderstanding that it will be a nice backup tool), it has been a nightmare ever since. I can't find any help, the google searches gave me incomplete and conflicting solution, and no official solution on how to safely uninstall OneDrive and return all my data back to me.

At one point, I thought I can go to the Microsoft store in our neighborhood shopping mall (Valley Fair), but it's closed! They know how bad their products are, and they don't want to be overwhelmed by the customers complaining in person.
Apple at least have its Apple stores that can help out customers, while it has its own set of big-tech issues...

You can try turning off the backup at "Manage Backup" in the OneDrive settings. If that doesn't suffice then put your data in places that OneDrive can't possibly reach. The vulnerable places are Desktop, Documents, Pictures, Music, Videos, and the OneDrive folder located at C:\Users\username\OneDrive. So avoid those places for sensitive and large volumes of data.

Partition your drive and assign it a drive letter other than C drive, which OneDrive uses. You can also use an external drive.

I want to sue this Bastards and New Wrold robbers.These **** are not only stealing our data but also causing real harm in every possible way..

1. The time you spent in fixing or getting back your own data.
2. If you are a professional - use other applications, that starts using the HOME or Documents or other folders, on one drive without anyones permission. You lose work, data, time.. and may never recover.

I have gone to an extent to buy a new laptop, reconfigured everything from scratch making sure no Onedrive is there. However, these robbers and bastards have made it in such a way that it will find its way. You will do updates or something and one day you realise that.. **** IS BACK TO SCREW YOU.
