How to exclude folders with pics appearing in the photo gallery

Olivia and all the Microsoft team,

do you realize, that not allowing users to choose folders - sources of the photos - which should be displayed in the OneDrive Photo Gallery, makes OneDrive completely unusable (dysfunctional) for Photo purposes?

It is not a question of voting, if this is a priority! It is so obvious bug and such a huge OneDrive Microsoft team failure, that you should fix it immediately.

Because of this failure, right know, OneDrive users have only these options:
1/ Not to use OneDrive for Photos, but just as a data storage (so, you need to store Photos on other cloud solutions, e.g. on Google Cloud).

2/ Use OneDrive just for Photos, but other data you need to store on other cloud solutions, because you don't want to mix your data with photos (so, Microsoft is losing part of business and makes users angry = loss-loss, not win-win).

3/ Not to use OneDrive at all, because is much more simple to use other cloud solution, which allows you to store all the data and in your Photo Gallery display only photos, you want to be seen.

As a new One Drive user have a similar problem. Here's my use case:

1. I've got hundreds of images associated with work projects that I do not want to see when I click on Photos in OneDrive.
2. For our purposes, just assume all the work-related images that I do NOT want to see are under C:\users\Patrick\Work\
3. I need to know the OneDrive feature that allows me to exclude all photos under C:\users\Patrick\Work\

Is Microsoft saying that, as a multi-billion dollar company with thousands of OneDrive customers, that this very simple piece of functionality does not exist? (That's what I'm getting from this thread.)

I totally agree. This is such a betrayal of trust. The fact that they won't fix it is astounding.

Same exact problem here. In my case I have an image library in c:/.../.../OneDrive/Image Library/ that contains stuff I use for graphic design.

Result is that when I go to look through my family photos, every third one is a clipart of a llama or a santa claus wallpaper.

The have a feature to select which folders on the Android are included, but not which folders on Windows. Ironic since Window belongs to Microsoft and Android doesn't.

By the way, I do use the camera upload function (though I have no such settings menu) and it makes no difference. I'm seeing the exact same behavior that you are.

However, as other users have reported, the last version of Android OneDrive does not contain a Camera Upload option. I can see Camera Backup option but not Camera Upload. Do you guys need to update your instructions and related link you provided?

So the question still stands, for the latest OneDrive Android version, is there a way of excluding folders to appear in the Gallery, or are users forced to see all their OneDrive pictures in their Gallery (and that includes art works, private medical pictures, etc).

This sounds like a very basic and reasonable feature, i.e. let your users select the folders to scan for pics.
