hi Loop team! Great to see the product out there; congrats!

Say, I'd like to (easily?) link from one (Sub-) page to another. Can I do so?

Just lost access to notion in a company re-org, so exploring Loop. Very promising, but the lack of ability to easily link to sub-pages is really surprising--feels like table stakes for an app like this. As others have said, @ doesn't bring up pages in a chrome browser.

Workaround to get a sub-page link is 8 clicks in a chrome browser! Ellipsis > share link > wait a couple seconds to load > click x to close the modal > paste > click preview > Link Options > URL (10 clicks if grabbing that URL from a different workspace!)

Would also suggest either URL as default or preference to choose as default to save a few clicks; the sharepoint preview defeats point of inlining a URL in a paragraph (and is generally pointless for a sub-page).

Beyond @, drag and drop from sidebar would also be nice. :)

Just wanted to add to this thread as for me, easy page linking is the missing feature that's preventing me from moving fully over to Loop from Notion. The ability to jump from page to page is what makes apps like these so useful, and it's painful to have to create nested sub-pages with no real way of navigating cleanly between them using links. Fingers crossed we get this feature soon, as I really like the app in general!

I really hope linking via @... is fixed soon and the way it's displayed can be more consistant.

    Pain points for me are:

    • Links added via @ open outside the workspace meaning you can't navigate around easily
    • Links added in general display differently depending on if it's just a link on it's own, as a bullet point or in a table etc
      • It would be much nicer to display it as a simple link with "Style" or "Preview" options to display them in different formats.
    • Linking via the share link url works and stays in the workspace however it:
      • Shows the Sharpoint icon rather than the Loop icon
      • By default it shares it with all members of the organisation, you have to change it back to only people who have access.

Strangely, if you paste the link in a bullet point to get the rounded pill style link, then delete the bullet point (but not the link), it keeps the pill style preview which i actually like... just don't change the preview as once you try to change it back to preview it changes to the big wide card layout.

    Regards,

    Jamie

Thank you so much for sharing Yaniv! I'm happy to share that we are hard at work on these additional improvements.

    1. In progress - Page link previews will display the page title, icon, and other metdata (like last edited, by who) and in the future a preview image of the page
    2. Starting soon - URLs will open on left click in the same window by default. Today they only open with ctrl/cmd+click or right click which both open in a new tab/window

For now, I would recommend you insert links as Link Titles by inserting in a bulleted list or adding a space to the line before inserting the link (like below).

Note: these links below are from the browser address bar (which is why they have the Loop logo). These links will only work for those who have existing access. If you want to insert links that are company share links to other employees you will want to use the Share button, which today will show a sharepoint icon, not a loop icon.

hi @jjl619 - see my response; it is not instant; give it 10 minutes for the page to show up...
