Hello

Just recently, I have been getting this error on some on my OneNote notebooks and while I can force a sync, the process takes an exceedingly long time and does resolve itself only to reappear later in the day.

I have tried to copy sections into a new notebook only to have the problem reoccur.

OneNote can't connect to the network. We'll try to sync your notes when the network is available. (Error code: 0xE000006B b6d09)

I can open the notebook via the web app but the sections that do not synchronize show an error.

I am sure that the network is not the issue.

    I have same problem

msf TEAMS onenote will have latest changes, but sync to Desktop O365 app doesn't sync, and Android One Note Company work profile also doesn't sync

It seems only Teams OneNote addon keeps the changes but it isn't sync'd across all the other One Notes across the cloud.

I see the same sync error in onenote desktop

I experienced what may be the same, or similar, issue.

Same error and problem, happening in desktop OneNote (macOS).

OneNote can't connect to the server. Sync will resume once we connect. You don't need to take any action. (Error code: 0xE000146E 72at2 10017 | b78bccb4-a466-ba48-9970-338873d606ba 202311062323)

One notebook was doing this, whilst the other one was not. Both notebooks were in in exactly the same folder in the same location on a Microsfot business account. There is obviously no actual issue with the connection to the server, since one notebook is connecting fine.

The only solution I found worked was to log out of the account on Onenote (desktop app). The changes that couldn’t be synced were then put aside, as Onenote does in such situations). I then logged in again, and syncing was no longer an issue.

I share this in case someone else finds this discussion thread, and perhaps this is an easy solution for them also.

Will Micky$oft ever get around to fixing this ongoing issue?

I cannot just recreate a NEW or Copy Notebook with a new name and URL. Many of my colleagues also use the same notebook and we cannot keep changing the links each time it fails to sync for one or more of us. We need this to be reliable, I thought that was what we were paying our license fee for.

I had the same problem for the last few days. I found out that my antivirus was the problem (Avast); just uncheck Enable HTTPS scanning.

Found a solution/workaround for when this happens. If you copy the notebook, close the old one, and reopen the new copy it will reset your sync. You may need to reshare the link with anyone else you want to work on the notebook. But this worked for me.

    1. Open the Notebook that you want to copy.  With the Notebook open …
    2. Click on "File" then "Export"
    3. Export Current:  Click on "Notebook"
    4. Select Format:  Click on "OneNote package (*.onepkg)"
    5. Click on "Export" to begin the copy process
    6. File Explorer opens---choose where the copy of the Notebook is to be placed (Ex. This PC, Documents folder or OneDrive, Documents folder).  Remember, if you want to be able to share this Notebook or access it from anywhere, it must be placed in OneDrive.  So, click on OneDrive, then Documents.
    7. "Open" the Documents folder and give the Notebook a new name--it must be different from the original name of the Notebook, then click on "Save"
    8. Open File Explorer again and find the Notebook with the new name.
    9. Double-click on it to unpack it.
    10. Click on "Create" to create the copied Notebook with the new name.
    11. Good Luck

This worked for me as well! This just started for me. I noticed that my notebook wasn't up to date on the OneNote app on my phone. Then noticed that the notebook was having the same syncing issue on the desktop app that everyone is describing in this thread.
