your system has run out of application memory

I keep getting an error message whenever I use onenote that says "your system has run out of application memory". It pops up after a couple minutes and has been going on for about a week now. Prior to this it had never happened. this is extremely frustrating because i need to use onenote for medical school. has anybody else had this issue and how do i fix it? i dont know if it has something to do with the new apple update? Plzzzzz help!!

It's hard to give you an exact date because of the staggered way in which we rollout Office Updates, but I can tell you that an improvement had been checked in.. and its a matter of releasing the update that should reach customer before end of year.

    One should never have to "uninstall and reinstall" properly designed software.

    Further to my comment that on my current M2 Mac Studio I saw OneNote bloat to 110GB (amazing!), today I went over to my Windows 10 laptop (Surface Book Pro 3). It works TOTALLY fine there. No problems at all, same exact notebooks open, and on my PC taking up <200 MB of RAM.

    It is totally a problem with the mac version of OneNote and another example that our small market share (on order 10%) does not get enough attention - this memory leak is a HUGE problem.

    Microsoft needs to fix this. Antitrust laws prevent them from forcing us to buy only their hardware or software.

    Will watch this thread, but someone might actually organize a class-action suit over it.

    We (large data upload) users are probably the tip of a very large iceberg.

    I would gladly pay real money to MIcrosoft to have this problem go away - students may not. But the larger community would. I think it may be a "slow freemium" play.. see how many folks get addicted, then find the limits, then have them pay to remove them.

    Again, stay posted. Some lawyers may be sharpening their pencils.

    You would think that the amount of reporting of this problem and views on this thread would be enough for Microsoft to address this problem.

    My whole purpose of paying for the Microsoft 365 was to have access to One Note... and now it's unusable?

    Not to mention that Microsoft does not have a help-line where you can get anyone on the phone to talk to about this problem.

    Spent multiple Hours and appointments with Apple for us to only come to the conclusion that there is nothing Apple can do for this.

    Please someone address this.
