Hi,

since a few days I have issues with Excel 365. Above the grid it mentions "COULDN'T REFRESH DATA TYPES We need to fix your account. Select Microsoft Excel from the top menu > Sign Out. Then Sign back in with an account associated with a subscription." I have followed the instructions by signing out and then in again however it didn't resolve the issue and it repeats. I have been using Office 365 for many years and just recently the problem started. Now I can't refresh the data. I have checked my subscription and there seems nothing wrong with it and is all updated. Kindly assist me with this issue.

I spoke with Microsoft over a few days...Tier1 then Tier2. Only way I was able to resolve this was to uninstall and reinstall version 16.64

I, too, is able to get 16.64 to work. Tried log out of MS 365, Mac re-start, Excel close, the Excel data refresh still works on 16.64. Thank you.

You are correct - After closing and signing out, when signing back in the issue came back. Came back by asking to activate , after activating the stock refresh ran but updated the Quote symbol to UNKNWN. Signed off and rebooted laptop and ran license removal tool and re-signed into excel. Now back to not refreshing but not corrupting data with UNKNWN in stock symbol cell. So back to square one. Frustrating !!!!

The real test is quitting Excel and restarting. I too was able to keep all versions through 16.67 working as long as I never quit Excel. (I mean full quit, not just closing a workbook.)

I followed all the steps in un-installing, removing all files and folders and the MS-Office suite of apps. Rebooted my Macbook Air laptop running MACOS Ventura (13.0.1) and installed the 16.64 package from the link provided. Was expecting to have it all work. Same problem. Not refreshing and getting the must sign-out etc. Next ran the removal tool and still didn't work. When excel was opened also got notice to apply upgrades. Performed the updates Looked like 2 apps were upgraded (excel is now 16.67. To my surprise, Excel started working as expected. Been about 1hr and all my excel sheets are working. Go figure. I am scheduled to get a MS Level 2 call on 12/11 AM , will keep the call and ask support about why ? Good Luck to all who are experiencing this license issue.
