issues with refreshing "Data Types" in Excel 365, says "We need to fix your account", Sign in and out.

Hi,

since a few days I have issues with Excel 365. Above the grid it mentions "COULDN'T REFRESH DATA TYPES We need to fix your account. Select Microsoft Excel from the top menu > Sign Out. Then Sign back in with an account associated with a subscription." I have followed the instructions by signing out and then in again however it didn't resolve the issue and it repeats. I have been using Office 365 for many years and just recently the problem started. Now I can't refresh the data. I have checked my subscription and there seems nothing wrong with it and is all updated. Kindly assist me with this issue.

    Nice work isolating this!

    However, on further testing, this won't give many of us a workaround. True, you get the ability to download stock prices, but you lose the ability to use dynamic array formulas. You get some very strange behavior when you open a workbook that has these - they seemingly get converted to old style array formulas but not always and they don't seem to work right anyway. I haven't tried with 16.69 downloaded from MSFT but this is the behavior I saw with 16.68 downloaded from the app store.

    Anyone else trying this workaround and getting better results than me?

    Hi all,

    I've isolated the root cause and the issue is with the MicrosoftRegistrationDB_*.reg file. Deleting the MicrosoftRegistrationDB folder or its content after quitting Excel will work - no need to login:

    **~/Library/GroupContainers/**UBF8T346G9.Office/MicrosoftRegistrationDB

    Hope this helps and it's pity Microsoft isn't willing to fix this bug.

    On the first test, it seems to have worked for me.

    Same problem here. Submitted a feedback.

    Interesting that many seem to have experienced it weeks ago. While I have been using the same spreadsheet daily, the issue only started yesterday on my system/machine (iPad Pro).
