Word (Mac) Zoom issues

sorry for letting you wait. Unfortunately, I'm still abroad without access to my Mac. I have though been able to talk to my partner about the issue, who has access to my Mac.

The issue doesn't seem to occur when clicking +/-. The MacOS version I´m using is BigSur.

I hope the issue can be fixed and highly appreciate your efforts! Thank you very much!

Very interesting. So, the issue didn't occur for you in 16.53. But when you updated to 16.54, it began. Is that right? (Just curious.)

I will submit the feedback ASAP and select the attach log option, as you say.

I look forward to hearing back about how the issue may be fixed. But in the meantime, thank you very much again, Alex, for your work on this.

Hi Owen,

I won't guarantee that upgrading your macOS to Big Sur will fix this issue. To be honest this sounds like a long shot to me as well.

There were 2 M1 chip users reporting the similar issue in this thread and if I remember correctly, the M1 chip mac come with the Big Sur OS.

So if they are experiencing the same issue in Big Sur, then in my idea, the system OS is not the root cause for the issue here.

During this period, I've managed to setup a macOS Catalina 10.15.7 system. However I still can not reproduce this issue.

When zooming in the Word application, it won't jump to the random page.

If you want to see how it works on my side, please let me know and I will send you a video.

I will try involving some related resources and see if they know anything related with this issue.

Meantime, could you try setup a new local user account on your Mac and see how it goes?

Also, I am not sure if George asked this before, have you installed any add-ins in your Word application?

Correct: my mac has an intel processor; not an M1 chip.

I confess I am a touch nervous about upgrading to Big Sur, simply because of the bugs reported so far. Note also that this problem with Word began while I was using high sierra; I have updated my software twice to arrive at version 10.15.7.; no change to the Word issue either time. I have a hard time believing it's likely that the final upgrade will change things... However, if you folks disagree, and if you think there is a decent chance that this problem will be solved via the upgrade, I will try it out.

Thanks for providing the video.

We have successfully received your video, and are reviewing it to find the difference between our reproduce steps between yours.

As the video link contains your Tenant name and your mail address，which are consider as PII in this community. To protect your privacy, we have removed the PII part in your video link.

The only difference we noticed for now is we are using macOS Big Sur for the test and you are using Catalina. Is there any chance you can update your MacOS to Big Sur and check the outcome?

Also, judging form your macOS version, I assume you should be using a Mac with Intel CPU, not the M1 chip, but still would be happy if you can confirm it.
