Printing Envelopes in Word - Blank Page Printing After

Using Word 2016

Printing form letters and envelopes is a large part of my job. For years I've been able to go to the mailings tab, select envelopes, have the address extracted from the letter and print the envelope no problem. As of this week, every time I do this a blank sheet of paper prints out after the envelope. To clarify, there is not a blank page being added to my document, just a blank page being printed out after the correctly printed envelope. One proposed solution I've seen is to disable two-sided printing which I have done and it did not solve the problem.

Update:

While I have not been able to solve the root problem of Microsoft printing an extra page when printing envelopes, I was able to change printer settings to stop the issue. In printer preferences (for my printer, under the detailed settings tab) I turned disable blank page print on. I want to clarify that this is not the cause of the problem, as I have had this setting off for years and never had this issue, but it does fix the problem :)

    That is more or less what do. I just highlight the address on the letter>Mailing>Envelopes>The address appears in the envelope 'Dialogue box>Press print. That's it.

    I have tried all of the above and it's still not working. what else do you suggest because I can't keep printing and wasting paper?

    Hi Ctlo, Try this>Control panel>in search box type>Troubleshoot>Under Hardware and Sound>Use a printer>run it

    My first of call would be to run an Office repair>In the Windows search box type>Apps & Features>Click on Apps & Features>Scroll down the list of Apps to your Office>Click on it>Choose>Modify>Choose>Quick repair

    Thank you for the response! Unfortunately, the suggestions did not work. dhilton78's reply sums up the issue perfectly - envelope is printing like normal but I'm getting a blank sheet of paper as well.

    I haven't intentionally updated anything on my computer but I do get automatic updates for Word. Maybe this issue is Microsoft's attempt at a helpful update...
