I created a new plan and it came with the Default 6 color Labels for tasks. I do not need that many. How do I delete the unwanted colors/options? I can only find information on editing labels or how to add them to a task.

Need the ability to delete labels, specifically when we edit the name and want to remove and not use.
Even the ability to select those labels that are in use rather than all labels. When you Group by Labels I do not want to see labels if they have no tasks and I am not using them.
This feature needs to be added. I have a group of over 80 members and this causes much confusion across the org when attempting to sort by labels

According to my research and tests, currently, it may not be able to delete/add labels in Planners. As you mentioned we are only supported to edit and add them to a task now. For this information: Flag your tasks with labels - Office 365 (microsoft.com)
I really understand your feelings. So, to address your concerns, I would recommend you vote and leave your comment in this similar User Voice thread: Delete labels – Planner Customer Feedback (uservoice.com) Since that UserVoice forum is monitored by related programing Teams. So, it is a good way to let them know your concerns directly. If this idea is popular, it may be more likely to be implemented in the future.

Delete - Hide - Re-order.
Anything would be so so so very helpful - should be a basic feature really . Great so give us so many useful colours but not so great not to give us ways to manage them besides naming them.
