Apple mail keeps asking for outlook email password

Hi,

I’ve got two outlook email accounts on my iphone and  both are constantly requiring me to re-enter my password. Its only started happening over the last 3 days and becoming increasingly annoying. I know other people that are having the same issues, so I’m not sure if its something to do with the latest IOS update. I would be grateful if anyone has any information on how to ressolve this.

    Think that was probably just a coincidence. I've tried turning my wifi on and off on my phone and it has no effect on whether it asks for password or not.

    I think the likely issue is related to the reported microsoft authentication change / bug but what is causing it I'm not sure. Ive had it on a laptop, ipone and ipad at various times. All with hotmail accounts never with other accounts.

    Installing and using the Outlook app instead is not a solution. This is obviously a bug with either IOS 14 or a recent update on the Outlook side.

    Use the Outlook app, never asked for my password after I logged in

    Right it just happened to me again however I noticed something - I am in my home and my iPhone is normally connected to my home wifi. I was in the iPhone mail app looking at a list of emails in my Outlook inbox. I swiped an email and deleted. At this point the message prompting me to input my Outlook password appeared but at the same time I noticed the wifi connection had dropped and my device had reverted to my mobile's 4G connection.

    Maybe therefore the issue can occur if a) you are in your iOS mail app and the same time as b) your wifi connection drops and your device reverts to 4G.

    I am not an expert in network technology so it's just a theory. Will bear this in mind the next time the problem occurs.

    Got the same issue and i think it started when Daylight Saving Time ended. iPhone’s are known to have bugs around these time switches. I also get my notifications from my Outlook calendar items one hour too early, but ONLY on my Apple Watch. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
