Onenote sync issue error E000283C

Hi,

I am continually having sync issues between my 2 Windows 10 computer and mt ipad using Onenote. This has been working fine until last night. The iPad contains the latest changes to one particular notebook and when I try to sync shows an error message " Onenote can't sync your notes at the moment. We'll keep trying' with a code E000283C. Both Windows 10 apps show that the notebook is saved offline and that the computer doesn't appear connected to the internet. Well they ARE connected to the internet and when I try to access the notebooks online they are very slow to load up but eventually get there.

I have checked the service status page with no faults showing and my onedrive syncs fine so I am assuming that the Microsoft service is at fault here. I have read elsewhere not to log out of the account if there are changes pending as they will be lost but I need to get this resolved.

Regards

mine was working at 6pm - midnight last night. which has been consistent for the last 3 dayys now. doesnt work all day, works after 6pm.

as soon as i wake up this morning.

gone again, day 4 of this ****.

OK, so where are you located? I'm in OZ and others are in NZ, so the antipodes. If you are in the US that sort of confirms your night is OK (ie. our day sort of) and the problems you have during the day, when a 100 million users start using their OneNote we possibly don't see. Just guessing.

Of course, if you are something near this timezone, then clearly the OneNote issues have not been resolved. I do see you are getting the new and updated error code (not E000283C, but E000006B ctctv) so 'something' has changed.

im in Sydney Australia too. Yeah it must be OneNote. other teachers near me having same issues but others seems to getting access fine which is why its so confusing.

The Windows 10 OneNote Desktop Client now appears to be connecting to the internet / teams / sharepoint storage location. It is no longer stuck in the 'Saved Offline (error)' state.

I'm guessing Microsoft have done something to improve either the OneNote Education tenancy functionality, or the connections / infrastructure / resources where our Sharepoint Data is stored at rest in Australia, or our Teams data is stored at rest in "Asia Pacific".

I've not noticed any new or historic M365 Health incidents / acknowledgements posted overnight - it would be helpful to have some acknowledgement / post incident report from Microsoft (especially when we've still got a Premier Support Case open and the assigned MS Associated engineer / team is debating whether they should escalate our reported issue to the MS Product Development Team.

Confirmed also, both WEB and macOS App 'appear' to by sync'ing. I was on the phone with Tech Support last night and the Techo went off to do something. Fell asleep waiting and he terminated the chat session, fair enough, but it was a long wait.

Good to see 'something' is happening.

Similar to Steves999, the symptoms I reported above have changed / improved overnight (its now 8:08am GMT+10)) in Australia.

In the OneNote web client, the Notebooks sections / pages are now opening after a relatively short delay. The endless spinning wheel, apparent over the last 3 days appears to have disappeared, and the pages are now rendered.

However, the saving of changes in some Notebooks is either slow, or doesn't appear to happen / complete (in the web browser client).

It seems like there has been a dramatic improvement overnight but it still seems like there are insufficient resources to process the load (reads are ok, but write or update functions are noticeably slow /  not completing). Perhaps those that are not completing are now corrupt???
