This is for MacOS 10.14.5
Microsoft AutoUpdate is v 4.12
Office Updates are 16.26
Worked with first level support to completely clean my Mac of all microsoft products and reinstall latest package.
Ran in SAFE MODE no change.
Ran Cocktail and Disk Utility no change.
Repaired permissions no change.
I post this issue (which I believe is only showing up on my Mac - others in our house don't do this - every time an update occurs. First MAU comes up with an update to itself which doesn't download, then I take a new copy of MAU off the MS website and install it manually, then it works and shows the new updates which then won't download - same issue, so I then download the whole MS office and install it, then everything works again until the next autoupdate which then has the same issues.
Watching the progress bars it appears that the files just don't want to download and save in whatever spot it's trying to put them.
Just to clarify - I have MAU 4.12 now, and I have Office 12.26 installed. Everything is the latest. But MAU runs and says a new MAU needs to be installed and that is 4.12.0 and when it tries to download is when this happens.

Same here - same symptoms after downloading and using MAU 4.14

I manually downloaded MAU 4.14 and still get the same issue when try to get updates ie "one or more packages..." message.

Since the Danila_231 mentioned, he could not access the URL directly to download the Update package and receive 404 error, I think his issue might be different from ours. Thus, I have split his reply to a new thread and the other agent will keep follow up on his issue.
Unfortunately, I haven't receive any updates from our related resources yet, but since the MAU 4.14 has been released, could you try manually download and install the newest MAU version and check that could do the trick.

I'm still having the same issue. My MAU 4.12 is telling me there is a new MAU 4.14.0 and when I try to download/install it tries to download and then fails with "one or more packages..." message.
In the past I have installed the new MAU manually and it worked fine. Then I would run it and get a new version of Office and when I tried to download that, again same symptoms. I have previously listed about a thousand things I've tried including reinstall OSX, completely erase all MS Office files and reinstall, run SAFE MODE, etc.
I have other Macs in the house running the same Mojave and they update fine, just this one laptop that doesn't want to cooperate no matter what.
