In the past 3 weeks, I moved to a new Lenovo P15 Gen 1 mobile workstation and have had zero issues, using the same Thunderbolt 3 Workstation Gen 2 dock from Lenovo that I was using before.
My old system was a Lenovo T490. The OS was installed from an ISO of Windows 10 Pro 1903, but as I learned, the edition of Windows was changed from Pro to Enterprise via supplying the correct activation key, manually.
I installed the OS on this new system myself, also manually, but using the ISO of Windows 10 Enterprise 2004 and the Enterprise image / index from the .WIM for it. The correct key for Enterprise was supplied right off the bat. All drivers either came from MS Update or Lenovo's Vantage program, installed from the MS Store app. The installed app. stack is identical to what I had installed on the old system and, since it was mentioned here, Jabra Direct is also installed.
I've been in numerous meetings while using the dock's Ethernet cable connected and haven't dropped a single call like I was with the old system.
So, I'm not convinced it's the dock itself, nor its firmware, which I did not update while building up the new system. I think it has more to do with the installed build of Win 10 and drivers. I recommend people explore the idea of backing up personal data, wipe the system, install a newer build of Win 10, install all BIOS/UEFI updates, and ensure that all drivers either come from MS update or the OEM for your system (Lenovo, Dell, HP, etc.).
I'm happy to answer any questions, but, this problem has been effectively solved for me. Hopefully this information helps others.
