MAU still didn't work

Well it's now October, and 16.30 just arrived. The MAU still didn't work. I noticed that it's now combined with the update so didn't try to download the updated first this time. But symptoms are all the same - the updater recognized that I needed all applications and told me to install 16.30 and when I saw the progress bar, each package showed download progress but the overall download progress kept resetting each time to zero and the package didn't finish saving on my Mac. At the end I got the telltale message "One or more packages..."

This is the problem that Microsoft doesn't want to fix because they don't have enough people reporting it or saying they have the problem.

So I'm a 365 subscriber who pays money to have what Microsoft described as the package I was purchasing and they're not going to provide it.

I guess this is what happens when integrity is an option left up to the workers and not the leaders.

Hi Alex,

I logged a call/chat with Apple and after reviewing the error they have said it is a Microsoft issue as the MAU is part of Office App. They said I should get them to provide a fix and the fallback being create a new primary user account and transfer all my files/folders across.!

I love open systems and finger pointing.

I will be following this thread and happy to contribute

I will log a call with M/Soft soon too

Hi,

I will log a call with Apple.

I get the 'Sorry, there's a problem with the download....' message

I do not have that folder even after running MAU. I have private/var/folders/ and then several others.

One additional note: 16.30 requires Mac OS 10.13.x or newer.

Thanks for all your replies in this thread, I am still trying to negotiate with our related resources on this issue. Hope we could bring out a best solution on this case.

@Steve, since the MAU work under your Wife's user profile, this issue should be only related with the specific user profile, in that case, you should contact Apple Support for the further assistance.

Also, to help us further investigate on this issue, please confirm us with the following information:

1.If you are having the issue in the MAU version 4.16, did you receive the same error message "One or more updates package could not be downloaded" or the "Update error...Sorry, there's a problem with the downloaded file".

2.Please go to the folder /private/var/folders/5v/9hp4r0s51t1g2b17p6xjz18m0000gn(This folder's name could be different on each Mac)/T/ See if you can find the log file called TelemetryUploadFilecom.microsoft.autoupdate.fba.txt

As this is a temp folder, if you can't find any log files there, please first try reproducing the issue in MAU, then check the folder again, see if there is any log files created.

I agree with GREGHARTNETT. I thought the days of this was behind us.

My question regarding the type of computer is valid. Is this an issue with just Macbook Ai, Pros, or all systems?

Logging should be taking off the table or is it the dreaded Microsoft / Apple battles or lore?
