Thank you for your interest. I can appreciate how the old stale post on this matter that began i April 2019 is hard to decipher.
So to bring you up to date, I have done a safe boot, reinstalled OSX, completed deleted Office and reinstalled it. I have worked with MS Support live and completed everything they asked. I have gone down a list of suggestions from all over the internet and
faithfully implemented each one.
My last communication from MS Support was that they decline to pursue it because it's not affecting enough people.
I have just confirmed that the problem is still present with the latest version of Mojave 10.14.6 and the newest version of Office 16.30. I installed the latest version manually after confirming that the same problem is occurring with the latest updater
4.16.
I believe if there were a way to poll users we would find that a lot more are just manually updating because they gave up with no solution in sight earlier this year. Many have been suffering with this for 2-3 years.
This is a subscription service for me - MS 365 - with a commitment to provide the product as described.
