onedrive can't sync right now. please try again later.

This does not do the trick for me. I cannot find any ClientPolicy.ini file in that folder (C:\Users<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneDrive\settings\Personal). None of the init files that I do see in the folder contains the key MaxClientMBTransferredPerDay.

The size of all files that I did manage to download is 535600, though, as I can see from my Windows Explorer. Shockingly close to 537600. So I am sure your answer is the right one, but I cannot find this key in the latest version of OneDrive/Win10.

Does anyone know whether this has been moved, e.g., to registry or elsewhere?

EDIT: I managed to make the file become re-created. I deactivated OneDrive ("unlink this PC"), then re-linked the PC again to the same account. All files in above folder were changed as I can see from the detailed file info. Among others, ClientPolicy.ini got re-created.

When I tried that cmd, all I got was a notepad document with a bunch of parameters on it. But even if I find that particular parameter, where will I make the change? It leaves the cmd prompt immediately.

You’ve just hooked your PC up to OneDrive, and perhaps you’re trying to download a large folder (or everything) off it. Halfway through, you get an error: “OneDrive can’t transfer files right now”.

This is actually caused by your PC hitting a local transfer limit (not server sided) of about 500GB. Generally, you can wait a day and it’ll eventually start syncing again. Chances are though, you’d like to fix it immediately. Here’s how:

The fix is relatively simple.

• Open the Run command (Win+R) and type the following in (or navigate to it in Windows Explorer:

%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\OneDrive\settings\Personal\

• Open ClientPolicy.ini
• Find the MaxClientMBTransferredPerDay variable and change its value from 537600 (525GB) to something higher, like 5376000 (5250GB)
• Restart OneDrive

I'm not sure whether all users could solve their issues and I know it's way too late of a reply, I found this worked for me as pthe steps that I could see in this thread did not work.

1. Open one drive tray icon and select settings and unlink all accounts
2. Open one drive tray icon and select view online.
3. in the one drive online web page select the folders you need to sync and click on the sync icon.
4. you will need to sign in on the application so wait for the prompt
5. you will get a message to select a folder, so just select your existing one that should normally sync and "voila"

This is the only step that worked for me, after hours after trial and error of course.
