The procedure entry point EnumCalendarinfoExEx could not be located in the dynamic link library kernel32.dll

OMG! I was having the same error message "The procedure entry point EnumCalendarInfoExEx could not be located in the dynamic link library Kernel32.dll" So I checked to see what updates had been installed since I was in the office last week... KB4462157 on 1/18/2019. Uninstalled that one and Excel is now working! I hope this fix works for you as well.

How do Uninstall this update?

Put your cursor on the update icon on the task bar and right click.  This will open a dialog box.  Select custom install and then next.  This will open another dialog box with a list of updates to be installed.  Uncheck the ones you don't want to install and hit install.  You should get another dialog box asking if you do not want to see the unchecked updates again.   Click yes to hide them.  It might take several tries to hide all the updates you don't want but the unchecked updates will not be installed.  The unhidden updates can continue to reload and appear under the update icon until they are all hidden.

I am running Windows XP and I can't see anything that looks like an "update icon" anywhere on the screen.  I have had the same problem with update KB4462157 and have uninstalled it several times.  I have switched off "automatic updates" in the Control Panel but that stops all updates.  Why on earth does Microsoft continue to allow this update on their systems when it is now known that it causes this problem.  It is terribly frustrating and annoying.  I had a similar problem with update KB4461614 a few weeks ago and the error message with it referred to "procedure entry point GetDateFormatEx" but that update no longer appears on the system.
